The Baseline Training step requires 9100 applicants to provide objective evidence of attending an IAQG-approved ASD Lead Auditor class.

For applicants who complete the Aerospace Auditor Transition Training in 2026, IAQG Authentication will also accept an ISO 9001 (QMS) Lead Auditor Course to meet this requirement.

Applicants must provide:

  • Name of Training Course
  • Name of IAQG-approved Training Provider
  • Certificate Number
  • Training Start Date
  • Number of Training Days
  • Uploaded Successful Completion Certificate (as image or PDF file)

Do I need to be a QMS (ISO 9001) auditor recognized by a nationally-recognized AAB prior to applying?

IAQG Authentication requires applicants to have successfully completed the listed training and to have completed either second-party or third-party audits (subject to verification), but does not specifically require recognition by a nationally-recognized AAB prior to applying.

How do I know if my ASD Lead Auditor Course is IAQG-approved?

At this time, the IAQG has not yet defined official criteria for ASD Lead Auditor course contents. To support an effective transition in 2026, IAQG will also accept applicants who completed an ISO 9001 (QMS) Lead Auditor course prior to attending and passing the Aerospace Auditor Transition Training.

How do I know if my Training Provider is IAQG-approved?

I attended and passed the AATT before the “IAQG-approved ASD Lead Auditor Course” requirement took effect. Do I need to attend this training now?

For applicants who already attended and passed the AATT in 2026, the IAQG will accept either an ASD Lead Auditor Course or a QMS (ISO 9001) Lead Auditor Course to meet this requirement.

What is the IAQG Auditor Authentication Course?

This is currently called the IAQG-sanctioned Aerospace Auditor Transition Training (AATT) course, and will be renamed in a future update. Anyone who successfully completed the AATT course (including examinations) for the related standard will be deemed to have met this requirement.

Do I need to upload any evidence for the IAQG Auditor Authentication Course?

No, the website will only permit those who successfully completed this requirement to apply for IAQG Authentication. You do not need to upload any evidence for this course as part of the application process.

If already authenticated to 9100 and applying for 9110 or 9120, do I still need to complete the ASD Lead Auditor Course?

No, the ASD Lead Auditor course requirement only applies to auditors seeking their initial authentication to 9100. Those already authenticated to 9100 will be deemed to have already met this baseline training requirement.

What is the standard-specific online training and examinations that apply to 9110 or 9120 authentication?

IAQG offers sanctioned online training and examination program for each standard:

Candidates must successfully complete the respective online course, including passing examinations/retakes, prior to applying for authentication.

Do I need to complete ISO 9001 Auditor Training or a “Standard Auditor Course”?

IAQG Authentication does not specifically impose this requirement. However, IAQG AQMS standards include
ISO 9001 requirements, and applicants must demonstrate relevant second-party or third-party audit experience as part of their application. To support an effective transition, IAQG Authentication will accept a QMS (ISO 9001) Lead Auditor Course as an alternative to the ASD Lead Auditor course requirement for those who complete and pass the AATT course within 2026.

Do I need training to demonstrate ASD Industry Knowledge?

Not necessarily, but applicants will be required to pass an ASD Knowledge Examination. This examination requirement has been waived in 2026, but will be required of all authenticated auditors in 2027. Applicants may gain this needed industry knowledge through training or work experience. Learn More.
