Applying to IAQG Authentication

Applying for new authentication or advancement

Section titled “Applying for new authentication or advancement”

IAQG requires all auditors seeking new authentication or advancement to apply with IAQG Authentication and meet the requirements outlined in this document. Applications will be performed online through the IAQG Training & Authentication Website’s Authentication Status Page. As part of the application, candidates will be required to submit documented evidence demonstrating achievement of the requirements listed below, which may vary depending on the Authentication Level and AQMS standard.

Categories of authentication requirements include:

  • Baseline Training: Training must be successfully completed by the candidate prior to their application with IAQG Authentication, including any related examinations or evaluations. This consists of IAQG-sanctioned training (prepared for or officially offered by IAQG) or training delivered by an IAQG-authorized Training Provider meeting IAQG-defined course criteria. For courses delivered by IAQG-authorized Training Providers, candidates must submit a digital copy of the official successful course completion certificate.
  • Audit Experience: Audits conducted by the candidate prior to application within the listed time limit. Additional criteria may be specified depending on the type of audit experience required. For third-party audits, this typically requires either an initial or recertification audit, or both surveillance audits for a given client, to demonstrate full coverage of all applicable requirements.
  • Work Experience: Relevant or related full-time work conducted as an employee or contractor. The amount and nature of work experience depend on the standard and authentication level (explained in each “Authentication requirements by application type”).
  • ASD Industry Knowledge: Additional evidence of Aviation Space and Defense Industry knowledge not already covered or demonstrated via Baseline Training or Work Experience. IAQG will define and maintain a list of topics, and determine the appropriate means of demonstrating competence (see “ASD industry knowledge” for more information).
  • Additional Requirements: IAQG may impose additional requirements specific to certain standards or authentication levels not captured in the above categories. For example, applications for 9110 or 9120 require an existing active authentication for 9100 at the same Auditor Level or higher.

As part of the authentication application, candidates must disclose any previous ASD third-party auditor authentications or authentication applications that were rejected, suspended, or withdrawn, in addition to providing the related reason(s) why.

Once the application payment is received, an email will be sent to all listed contacts to verify work and audit experience. Applicants can review the verification status of all contacts, have emails resent (up to once a day), and switch to the alternative email for each contact (when this was provided in the application). Once all listed contacts have verified the claimed experience, the application will be submitted for processing.

Applications will be reviewed by IAQG Authentication personnel, who will verify the accuracy of submitted information to the extent deemed necessary and appropriate. This could include additional verification of work experience and audit experience history through applicant-provided contacts. The applicant must ensure any contact information has been provided with the consent of the individual to be contacted by IAQG Authentication for this purpose. If the IAQG is unable to verify the information in an application, it may be declined or delayed.

IAQG Authentication may ask the applicant for additional information to support their application, or offer an opportunity to review and amend an existing application to include additional detail. Allow 10 to 20 business days for processing.

Once an application is processed, an email will notify the applicant of the application result:

  • If the application is approved, IAQG Authentication will perform any necessary IAQG OASIS updates within 5 business days. Newly-authenticated auditors will receive an email from OASIS inviting them to complete the account registration process. Once registered in OASIS, authenticated third-party auditors (Level 1 or 2) will be eligible to be scheduled to audits by IAQG-approved Certification Bodies for the applicable standard(s).
  • If the application is rejected, the applicant will receive a concise explanation outlining why the submission did not satisfy IAQG-designated criteria. A rejection may be contested in accordance with the Appeals Policy. Alternatively, a new application can be submitted once all relevant requirements have been fulfilled.

Applications to IAQG Authentication are subject to an application fee, described in the table below:

Type of ApplicationApplicable Application Fee (as of June 2026)
Initial Application for Level 1 or 2 Authentication (per applicable standard)$500 USD
Application for Advancement from Level 2 to Level 1 Authentication (per applicable standard)$500 USD

All fees are in USD; payments may be converted to a local currency by the payer’s bank or credit card provider at then-applicable exchange rates, including any provider-imposed fees.
